RANGE RULES AND REGULATIONS

PREFACE: The range and facilities of this club are for the exclusive use of its members and invited guest(s) when accompanied by a member. The guest and the club member are to be present at the same time and same range (in other words the guest should be your shadow). All charges for your guest shooting are to be paid by the club member only.

All members should show their true sportsmanship by inviting those desiring participation to be your guest, provided they show proper sportsmanship, gun-safety and their participation does not unduly hamper other club members’ activities. Members must ask their guests to read the posted Range Rules and must remain present during the guests stay.

  • Where there is more than one participant on the Rifle and Pistol range, participants should agree to an acting Range Safety Officer, and that individual shall ensure the club rules are adhered to. Duties of this Range Safety Officer will be to ensure that the firing line is safe before shooters go downrange to post or pull targets and to ensure that the area downrange is clear before shooting commences.

  • Individuals using the Rifle and Pistol Range or the designated Range Safety Officer will ensure that, before shooters move downrange, all firearms are in a safe condition with actions open or cylinders swung out, and are not handled while shooters are downrange.
  • Rifle/Pistol shooters will turn on the Blue light and verbally indicate when the range is cold. This will signal people will be going down range. Note: this does not stop skeet and trap shooters.
  • Rifle/Pistol shooters will turn on the Red light and give three long blasts on the horn before going downrange when any of the following conditions exist:
    • Shooters are on skeet field 2 (South field).
    • You will be driving down range.
    • You will be going past the 100 yard berm.
    • You feel unsafe walking onto the range with skeeter on skeet field 1 (North field) or trap field 2 (South field).
This will alert the skeet and trap shooters to cease fire.

When all target setters have returned from down range, turn off the Red and Blue lights and give a single long blast on the horn, this will notify the skeet and trap shooters that they may resume shooting.

Shooters on trap field 1 (North field) are not required to stop for rifle/pistol shooters going downrange.
